Perhaps… Overheard in Heaven

Have you heard anything? Any hints at all?

The angels of heaven were abuzz, attempting to anticipate what major event was about to happen.

Just bits and pieces, I do know that Gabriel has been put on stand-by, so whatever it is, it must be good news for them.

The others nodding knowingly, since Gabriel, standing in God’s presence, always drew missions that were positive in nature. Michael seemed to have the responsibility to announce the bad news.

It is all pretty hush-hush to this point. Others are scouring the messages we’ve angelswhisperannounced over the years, thinking there might be some hints there. No one seems to have put it all together yet.

Do you think this could be the culmination, that He is calling it all to an end? Could that be the reason for all the commotion?

Angels longed to look into the future, to see what all the fuss was about. Servants of the Most High God, they were not privy to all of the decisions and dictates of God. In fact, they did not understand the messages that they delivered to the agents of God in this world. They knew, according to Peter, that it didn’t focus on them but on us.

Someone is going to live there. That is the story I heard. Right in the middle of them, like them but different. Right there putting up with all their foolishness. I don’t understand it all but I know I wouldn’t want the job.

Well, that can’t be right. Who would He trust with such a task? Living there, there is no way. The most we’ve ever had to do was go there on a mission, a short visit.

How could they know? Preposterous, a spirit being taking on flesh. How could it happen? But that was just what was about to happen. Spirit transformed into flesh, a baby like them all but like no other.

The latest news is there is to be a star prepared, bright and set over a little unimportant place called Bethlehem. Have you ever heard of such a thing?

Wait, I just heard the Son is going. He’s going to be there! No wonder so much preparation is going into this.

Can you imagine? God, and He’s headed to earth. That is good news.

The first time I read this I was in the present. What in the world were you trying to say. Hey, but
Then that “light bulb” came on and said try past tense. Ahh. haa! Very clever my dear friend.
What a wonderful imagination and exciting story. Could have happened that way. Such fun to think about. Blessings to you and yours.
