Stories that Shape Lives

As I’ve retold the stories, refreshing them in my mind, it is often done to illustrate a point, a lesson learned early in life. Sometimes, not much more than the impressions of entering a bank that had “refrigerated air” which was unheard of to me. Perhaps how bright the Texas sun was, then how dark the stores seemed with the “venetian blinds” on the windows, keeping the sun at bay. Or my favorite memory was the grandeur of “live oak” trees with their majestic canopy dwarfing the mesquite trees that were so much more common. Continue reading
